About Us
Devan Cornelissen Dressage
where i started to where i am now as a dressage rider
My name is Devan Cornellisen. Growing up I always had a love and passion for
horses. I used to go visit my aunt on her farm, because she had horses and it
was the only place where I felt at home. I always knew that I want to work with
horses. It has always been a part of me.
I started with riding lessons in my teen years and did my first show jumping
competition in 2021. Thereafter I bought my first horse, a three-year-old
thoroughbred named Prevailing Wind, aka Storm. I started doing his training
when he turned four. I took him to an in-hand show at Silver Leaf Equestrian
where he won his class.
Soon after, before our second show Storm was diagnose
with early signs of kissing spine. I started training him to get his back
strong and make him feel comfortable. Once I was able to ride Storm, I started
to do dressage training with him. That is where I found my passion for dressage
and the new dream to compete in dressage. Storm made a full recovery, and I am
excited to start showing him next season.
I contacted Von Ghaku Hanoverians Dressage beginning of 2025 and soon after
went to collect a new project horse named Von Ghaku Don Riko, aka Riko. Riko is
currently in training and will make his first appearance in the dressage arena
next season. Riko shows a lot of potential. He is as talented as he is
beautiful. I am currently a rider for Von Ghaku Hanoverian Dressage, and I am
looking forward to train and compete more of their horses in the future.
